National Harbor, MD - 4/23/21
Second to beach locations, the National Harbor on the Southern tip of Maryland might be one of my favorite places to shoot. The area is beautiful - from the shops and streets to the harbor and notorious Capital Wheel, I highly recommend putting this stop on your bucket list! Shooting in the National Harbor provided a lot of scenery with little walking cost compared to other locations. Hopefully the next time I can make the trip the Gaylord Hotel will be open as well - that place is gorgeous!
Alexis and I grew up together so I was super happy when she reached out and asked to me photograph her and Darryle's wedding. These two were a ton of fun to shoot during this engagement session and had me cracking up the entire time - they're definitely soulmates!
It was great to explore with them and capture their relationship. Both Alexis and Darryle were troopers - up for different poses, sitting on rocks by the water, and walking the harbor. I was especially happy that we got to capture the sunset and the Capital Wheel all lit up for some great photos of Mr.Johnson and the future Mrs. Johnson! We even got to see a gender-reveal by the Wheel (the couple and their family gave their results to the operators who did a small light show before turning the wheel fully pink or blue...surprise, it's a boy!).
Keep an eye out for more on these two next March when they officially tie the knot!
